Our Process

Our process begins with an initial phone consultation with your local Placement Coordinator. During this call, we will discuss all of the details about your family and the position you are hoping to offer, in addition to answering any questions you might have about the hiring process. New England Nanny Agency acts as a matchmaker for your family, so we want to learn all about your needs, your children, your family values, deal breakers, expectations, etc,. Following our initial call, we will email you our Welcome Packet, Family Questionnaire, and Client Agreement . Upon receiving your completed forms, we would then charge the $300 deposit and immediately begin your matchmaking process!

This is when our sourcing, interviewing and applicant screening begins! For every exceptional applicant to your family's position, once their screening process is complete, we will send you their completed "Candidate Profile" for review. This will include all relevant information such as their resume, cover letter, certifications and degrees, letters of recommendation, etc,. We will only send you profiles for candidates that we are confident  your family will love!

We will work with you to coordinate interviews with the candidates in consideration, whether that be via video, in your home, or in a local public place. Some families hire the very first person they interview, while others prefer to interview a handful before choosing. However you decide to do this is fully up to you! Most of our families typically end up hiring one of the first 3-5 candidates we send to them.

After you have decided on a potential nanny, or maybe can't decide between two great candidates, it's time to set up a test-run! This can be as simple as a meet and greet with the kids for a few hours, or you can have them do a paid working trial! We want you to be certain that this person is a great fit for your children and your family before offering the position. There is no agency fee for a trial, however you are responsible for paying the nanny directly for their time.

Now that you've found the perfect match for your family, you're ready to offer the job! We will work with you to build a formal offer and a Nanny-Family Employment Agreement, covering all logistics and expectations for the position. We can also discuss and connect you with our payroll partners, if you choose to use their services.

Throughout the duration of your nanny's employment, we act as a resource for support and advice for you or your nanny, as well as offering back-up care for vacations, sick days, or weekends.

Because we want you to be confident in your hire with us, we offer a 120-day guarantee period on all placements, starting on the nanny's first day. We do everything possible to ensure this will be a long-term fit. However, in the unlikely event that it's not working out, we will begin the search again and find additional candidates at no additional charge.
